Travel to Mexico

Bordered by two oceans and the Caribbean Sea, Mexico is reputed for its heavenly beaches. But that’s not all: more than half of the territory is situated above 5,000 feet in altitude and offers mountain landscapes to die for. To travel to Mexico is also to discover its northern deserts, covered in cacti, or a south-east lush with tropical forests. Mexico City, the country`s capital, is one of the highest capitals in the world situated at more than 6,500 feet as well as one of the largest metropolises on Earth! So many experiences await you in this country: going for walks in tiny fishing ports bordering the ocean, or deep sea diving in some of the most beautiful reefs in the world. However, it isn’t only for the flora that you will be travelling to Mexico, but also for its unique culture. The country is steeped in archaeological ruins, such as the famous Chichen Itzà. The pre-Colombian era saw extraordinary civilizations flourish; and many locations in Mexico still hold remnants of the time period still exist all around … The Spanish settlers also left a sumptuous heritage: their baroque architecture has been well preserved in several towns… For all of these reasons, as well as its gastronomy, music and lovely climate all year around. Clearly, Mexico can't be beat!

Is Mexico safe?

While some areas of Mexico are known for issues with violence, it is a huge country and most areas are perfectly safe. Many of Mexico’s security issues arise near the border and have rarely impacted tourists. The most heavily touristed areas, like the Yucatan peninsula, actually have exceptionally low crime rates that rival rural areas in the United States. If you have any concerns about safety, feel free to ask your local agent. They’re here to make the trip of your dreams, and can help you pick only the places where you will feel the most comfortable and have the most peace of mind while exploring such an exciting new place.

When to go in Mexico?

The best time to visit Mexico is during the dry season, from November to April. Between June and October the rains are frequent, short-lived and won't stop you from enjoying most regions. May is dry but really hot - not the best time of year to visit. You'll find that the climate varies according to altitude. Winters are cold and days short in mountainous regions, whilst the southern lowlands are hot all year round. Overall, if you're planning a trip to this Mayan homeland, choose the dry, pleasantly warm periods.

Our trip to Mexico was amazing! This was our third trip using Evaneos and by far it has been the best one. All thanks to the local agent in partnership with Evaneos in Mexico, excellent recommendations and costumer service. She was quite accommodating, both before the trip, where she tailored the itinerary to meet our needs and our budget (she even calculated for us a budget per day which turned out to be pretty close to what we ended up spending) and during the trip as well by being in contact with us to check if we were satisfied with our itinerary or if we needed anything. We definitely recommend local agencies in parternship with Evaneos and we will surely go back to Mexico!
