As the historic and cultural capital of Corsica, Corte is the main town in central Corsica.

My suggestion:
Nature lovers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing outdoor activities in Corte. If you find yourself in the centre of the island, then Corte is a must during a trip to Corsica
Summary:

The town of Corte sits proudly below its citadel, which is perched high up on a rocky outcrop, Old stonework and a labyrinth of lanes set amongst a stunning landscape of steep hills and scrubland. Walking was on my agenda and I certainly wasn't left disappointed.

The town is lovely and the Corte Citadel, AKA the 'Eagle's Nest', is a must. It's home to the Palazzu Naziunale, the former Corsican transient state (1755 to 1768) and offers superb views across the neighbouring valleys. You'll also find the Corsica Museum, an anthropological museum that exhibits traditional and contemporary collections.

The town is in the centre of the island, surrounding by mountain ranges that are perfect for hikes across the Corsican scrub.
