The itinerary has been created by our local agency with one idea in mind: to inspire you. Every element can be adapted to your needs and interests, from duration to accommodation and activities.

Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica !

Landing at the Juan Santamaria International Airport near San José, at 1150 meters above sea level in the heart of the Central Valley.

First contact with Costa Rica, your private driver will give you your travel documents and will take you to your hotel.

Night at Sleep Inn hotel.

Day 2: The famous Tortuguero area

Early in the morning, leave for the famous Tortuguero area on the caribbean coast. On the way, drive through the opulent Braulio Carrillo Park, covered with a thick tropical rainforest waterpoured with rainstorms.

You will also pass by a banana plantation, very typical since Costa Rica is the first banana exporter in the world ! In La Pavona or Caño Blanco, board on a motorized boat admiring the tropical fauna and flora until on your way to the lodge.

In the afternoon, you may visit the caribbean village of Tortuguero and the small turtle museum.

Note 1: 4 hours by car (+/- 115 km) and about 1h30 navigating.

Note 2: Possibility to make San José - Tortuguero by plane - about 1h flight - contact us.

Day 3: Cruise the Tortuguero canal by boat

In the morning, free time to explore the lodge trails.

In the afternoon, cruise the Tortuguero canal by boat. This Costarican Amazona is full of water canals and lagoons weaving in the middle of an impressive jungle. Cruise through this exclusive and outstanding water channels and swamps at the heart of the jungle. With the help of your guide, try and spot crocodiles, caimans, toucans, turtles, monkeys, parrots, sloths, iguanas, multicolored birds...

Note 1: To see more animals, visit the Tortuguero canals in the morning - 20 usd per person.

Note 2: Nocturnal turtle nesting from July to September - contact us.

Day 4: Transfer from Guapiles to Arenal

In the morning, leave the lodge by boat and arrive at La Pavona.

Then drive to the restaurant at Guapiles where you have lunch.

Group transfer from Guapiles to Arenal.

Make sure to enjoy the many thermal pools! 

Duration : 3:30hrs leaving at 1:30pm.

Day 5: Stunning view of the tropical vegetation

A 3 kilometer path will lead you through the primary forest. In total safety, enjoy a stunning view of the tropical vegetation and of the Arenal volcano, while crossing over 8 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges over the canopy.

Remember to bring walking shoes, otherwise, you will not be able to enter the park.

- Arenal volcano National Park with an English/Spanish speaking guide.

- Watching the wildlife (numerous birds) and flora.

- Touring on the Arenal Lake (boat, kayak, fishing).

- Trekking or horse riding.

- Rafting, canyoning, mountain biking, quad.

- Trip to Caño Negro (swamps, protected area).

- Exploring the Venado caves.

Day 6: Admire beautiful views between Arenal and Monteverde

Travel between Arenal and Monteverde in a fun way.

You will be transferred by vehicle to the lake and then board a boat for approximately one hour to take us across to Monteverde.

Enjoy this very scenic way to travel, where you can admire the beautiful views of all of the mountains, sky and the colossal Arenal volcano itself on our way across the lake.

When you reach the other side of the lake, you will be picked up and driven to your hotel in Monteverde.

Monteverde is a place of cloud forests and coffee plantations, monkeys, mist, and friendly locals. The town of Santa Elena is small and quaint, filled with tasty restaurants and folksy artisan shops, while the nearby rainforest hosts a remarkable amount of biodiversity.

Note: Two departures per day at 8:15am and 2:15pm.

Day 7: Tarzan Swing in Selvatura Park

Today, let's fly through 15 cables and 18 platforms with an optional Tarzan Swing at the end of the adventure. Selvatura Park is one of the longest Canopy Tours in Costa Rica. Also it is the only canopy tour located inside the Monteverde Cloud Forest.If you are looking for an extreme Monteverde canopy tour and amazing rides.

Day 8: Transfer to Manuel Antonio

Group transfer at 8.00am from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio.

You'll stop at the Río Tarcoles bridge to see the crocodiles. Then reach Quepos, known for its great fishing and palm oil production.

Check-in at the hotel in Manuel Antonio, known for its beautiful national park.

Note 1: Approximately 4 hour drive. Leaves at 8:00am.

Note 2: Manuel Antonio National Park is closed on Mondays.

Day 9: Open-seat ocean kayak

Come and experience one of Costa Rica’s most striking coastlines by open-seat ocean kayak.

The adventure begins near the Pez Vela (Sail Fish) Marina in Quepos and winds along the Manuel Antonio coastline. Indulge yourselves at a rare jewel of a beach – the hidden Manuel Antonio treasure Biezans Bay – for a refreshing swim and delicious local snacks.

And feel free to have your bilingual naturalist guide direct you to the best snorkeling spots as you experience three small but growing, active, and astounding coral reef systems nestled very close to the shore of Biezans Bay.

After an unforgettable experience at Biezans, continue paddling towards Manuel Antonio National Park and admire the nearby nesting islands which exotic booby birds and frigates call home all year round.

And finally end your adventure with a rewarding lunch in typical Costa Rican mannernear the beach at a local Manuel Antonio hot spot before returning to your residence.

Day 10: Free day in Manuel Antonio

Free day to enjoy the surroundings whether is by the ocean or in the jungle: swim in light blue waters, take a nap on the beach or exploring the forest… Be sure to keep an eye open to admire the numerous animal species around such as sloths and squirrel monkeys.

Note : The Park is closed on Mondays.

Day 11: End of trip

Group transfer to the international airport of San Jose and connect to your international flight.

Note: 4 hours and a half drive.

2 departure time: either 8.00am or 12.30pm.
