Ambalandingana is a village of the region of Ambositra, perched on a mountain at 1600 metres of altitude. Literally meaning "stopover village", Ambalandingana bears its name well and effectively serves as a place to spend the night during a visit to Zafimaniry country.

My suggestion:
Don't miss the works of art by the village craftsmen, who are highly skilled wood carvers.
Summary:

The village is the gateway to Zafimaniry country, which is generally visited during hikes or treks over a period of several days. Ambalandingana allows you to reach the nearby villages of Antoetra and Ifasina, and to discover the mountain landscapes of the region and the beauty of this tribe's traditional villages, where the doors and shutters of the houses are often entirely carved.

In fact, the region's population is internationally recognised for the quality of its wood carving, which is included on the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list.
