Surrounded by giant cacti, Isla Incahuasi is a must-see stopping place during a visit to Salar de Uyuni.
My suggestion:
Even though the outing at Salar de Uyuni is generally done with bare feet, don't forget to take a good pair of shoes with you to climb the heights of Isla Incahuasi. Beware of the cacti!
Summary:
Often confused with Isla des Pescado, Isla Incahuasi is located in the heart of Salar de Uyuni. This hill, which comes out of nowhere, is a compulsory visit during an outing in Sur Lipez in Bolivia. With its cacti, 10 m high, the small green expanse delights travellers who go there to immortalise their visit in the most important lithium reserve on the planet.
For an unrestricted view over Salar de Uyuni, pay your entrance fee and climb onto the rocky mound. Beneath your astounded eyes, the immaculate desert stretches out of sight around Isla Incahuasi. A genuine moment of emotion in protected nature. A little anecdote: the island counts one inhabitant, who fell madly in love with its wild beauty.
