Campo Venado, Chachacomani, Laguna Chilata, Huayna Potosí, Kunu Pampa Glacier... Mountaineers dream about these places in the Cordillera Real! But crossing this mythical Bolivian mountain requires significant physical preparation. It would also be unthinkable to attempt the expedition without a guide and the right equipment. Want to know more? Then let me tell you.
A real favourite of trekking enthusiasts, you can cross the Cordillera Real either in full (factor in over 20 days) or in part (between 7 and 15 days depending on the treks offered and the climatic conditions). Before embarking on this extraordinary trek, head to Lake Titicaca and go on a hike to get acclimatised to the altitude. Then the adventure can begin. Accompanied by a guide and some mules, the wild scenery of the Cordillera Real opened up before our very eyes in all its beauty, especially in front of the Kunu Pampa Glacier. There were significant changes in elevation, we were constantly going up and down. But we suffered in silence because the mind was what mattered most.
Throughout our trek, we were touched by the generosity of the region's Aymara Indians who came out to give us some encouragement. The road was long but we arrived at our destination. We had faced a great challenge.
