Amecameca sits at 2,480 metres altitude in Mexico DF. Visitors come here not only for its pre-Hispanic culture and cuisine but also for its imposing neighbours - the Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl volcanoes.

My suggestion:
You really should pay Amecameca a visit during your holiday in Mexico.. If you leave from Mexico City early on a Sunday morning, you'll avoid the infernal traffic jams.
Summary:
By going to 'Ameca', as the locals call it, you'll get the chance to meet some amazing people. Despite being constantly under the threat of 'Popo' (Popocatépetl) erupting, the residents are incredibly laid back about the situation and have, since time immemorial, taken it in their stride.
