What our travellers think of their stay

The main economic centre of Tanzania, Arusha, is a stop-over town for accessing large National Parks of the North.

My suggestion

Life is expensive in Arusha. I would advise those on tight budgets to avoid accommodation around the Clock Tower and favour the guesthouses in the North of the town next to the Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium, more affordable and nearer the market.

Arusha is the tourist city par excellence in Tanzania. It's the major centre for the organisation of safaris to the northern parks and for climbs of Mount Kilimanjaro.

My suggestion

Don't be tempted by the knock-down prices offered to you by the touts. You're likely to be scammed. The tourist information office will be able to tell you if your chosen agency is reliable or not.

My suggestion

When flying from Dar es Salaam, request a seat on the right of the plane so that you can admire the snow capped cone of Kilimanjaro, at 5895 m Africa's highest summit. As for the journey by bus, it seems to last forever.

We started a little badly with loosing absolutely amazing we started in lake Manyara and did a 2 hour walking safari with a lot of butterflies in our stomach scary but we felt very safe with our ranger and we happy that we started with the walk because when you then explore how many animals there actually is out there you will get more scared. After the safari we actually found a leopard 🐆 in a tree very rare.. and there were so many animals and so green as We came in the end of the rain season! We had 2 night in the escarpment luxury lodge that was really neat and a beautiful view over lake Manyara. The day after the crater ngorongoro beautiful and we got close to the lions and saw the rhino 🦏 then to Tarangire wow so many animals and We loved the simba Lodge and our driver and guide Mr Anderson was absolutely fantastic so professional and with great experience we could not have a better guide we loved our visit in Tanzania Thank you milestone safari and evaneos
