Situated at the extreme north of the island, you will be captivated by the quietness of this village of 4000 fishermen souls. Water sports fans, Ramena is for you : windsurfing, kitesurfing, on Diego Bay for beginners and for the more seasoned, Sakalava Bay awaits you!

Summary:

If you prefer diving, there are plenty of wrecks to explore hereabouts. And if you enjoy making encounters when travelling , ask the fishermen to take you for a ride on the Emerald Sea, whose name says it all…

For those of you who would rather a steep little climb, a good ramble on the heights of Ramena walking eastward will bring you to Orangea Camp. This is the last French military camp, now in ruins, but offering a most sublime panorama. And between Ramena and Diego Suarez, the Montagne des Français reveals yet another magnificent viewpoint.
