Masomelaka is a village on the shores of the Canal des Pangalanes, located at the mouth of the Masora River. It is a frequent stopover for travellers heading south to Mananjary or north to Mahanoro.

My suggestion:
Enjoy the quiet of the village to observe daily life in the Malagasy countryside during your tour on the Canal des Pangalanes.
Summary:

Masomelaka is also accessible via the National 11 and the ferries over the rivers. During the rainy season the track is chaotic and hardly usable.

On the outskirts of the village, the vegetation is lush and you will be able to observe a large number of plant species such as pandanus, bamboos and palms, including the raffia palm whose fibres are used by the inhabitants for the manufacture of objects.

Masomelaka is composed of small wooden houses separated by alleys of sand where the children play - a guaranteed exotic experience!
