A small town in the Great Karoo, Cradock is not touristy. People go there to visit the Mountain Zebra National Park nearby.

My suggestion:
You can pass through there briefly to go down the battered streets, but visiting the small town is not really worth a detour.
Summary:

If you really have time to spare and you like going to less visited parks, you can go to the Zebra Mountain National Park nearby and pass though Cradock, situated 300km inland from Port Elizabeth. The town centre is pretty and pleasant, particularly Market Street with its historical Victorian houses.

But I found that the town was visited by a lot of older people who go to the neighbouring hot springs, don't expect to find a lively night life there. On the other hand, if you like jumpers, you'll find nice little traditional shops as the town is known for its production of wool and mohair.
