One close to home; the children of one of our guides are being privately educated by our very own Agency members. We believe that good education is the solution to many of the problems in Namibia.
As well, we support a local Namibian that has set up a San Community campsite. We have built the camp and we employ the farmer that looks after the land. We hope that this will benefit the San people and the local community as a whole. Our trips visit the farm.
And finally, we are proud sponsors of the Africat Foundation (based at Okonjima). Through our donations and those of the travelers, together we help protect the large carnivore species of Africa.

    Best parts:
My drive to the Skeleton Coast and seeing it for the first time was transformative. At 2AM I was awakened by the sound of what was a giraffe eating from the tree immediately adjacent to my tent. Being nearly eye-to-eye with a giraffe was magical. The beauty and peacefulness of the Namibian landscape was captivating. The resourcefulness of the people - using alternatives where possible with solar and wind - was inspiring.
    Worst parts:
Some roads were maintained too often while others which still seemed main arteries of traffic were in need of repair. The length of travel to reach Namibia was expected but still unpleasant.
    Summary:

My tears of joy came from seeing such a delicate and spectacular landscape - the lichens, plants and animals dependent on the fog, the fact that the ocean creates the sand of the desert, the immense size of the sand dunes. My tears of sadness was the drought which they are experiencing and the animals which have been lost because of the drought. They need more people to visit and spend the money visiting the animal preserves so that money can turn around and be used to save their ecosystem.See more

    Best parts:
The wide open spaces of Namibia and all of the great photo opportunities they provided for capturing landscapes, wildlife, and the lives of the people who call the country home. As wonderful as these experiences were, none of them would have been possible without the help, professionalism, kindness, patience, and excellent communication of my wonderful agent in Windhoek, Liza Kotze, who was an absolute pleasure and an angel to work with from my first contact with Evaneos until the conclusion of my trip.
    Worst parts:
The flat tire... :-( But that worked out fine.
    Summary:

I found everywhere along my route fascinating and enjoyed the emptiness and solitude. Favorite moments/stops in particular were Sossusvlei, Etosha National Park, Luderitz/Kolmanskop, meeting the San people, and the excursions I was able to do from Swakopmund. The entire trip provided me with tons of photos and great memories that will endure forever.See more
