The National Park is a must-see destination during a trip to Namibia if you want to see big animals. Etosha is a beautiful reserve which can be discovered independently or with guides. On the agenda: lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, elephants, gazelles...

My suggestion:
Don't mess with the opening hours and think of leaving the park before closing, otherwise you risk serious problems. Also pay attention to safety: stay in your vehicle there and don't get out, don't even open the window!
Summary:

I was fortunate to spend several days in Etosha National Park, firstly with a guide, on board an impressive 4x4, which took us through the park to let us see the most wild animals possible. A successful mission, notably with the observation of a group of lions.

After this first exploration, I returned to Etosha National Park in my small hire car, alone, to roam the park's grounds. Certainly, I didn't see as much as with a guide, but, the feeling of "discovering" the animals myself made me tipsy! In any case, it's easy to see the animals and the number of them around the park is astonishing. Finally, a little tip: it's best to visit the park during the dry season (i.e. in winter), as it's then that the animals go close to water points, where you can admire them more easily.
