Sossusvlei just like Deid Vlei is inside Namib-Naukluft National Park. This is where you find the famous orange sand dunes, the most well-known Namibian landscape and a must.

My suggestion:
To find yourself at the park entrance at opening time and get to admire the spectacle of sunrise on the dunes!
Summary:

Sossusvlei is a magical place. I drive down a tarred path in the middle of the dunes for 28 ml before reaching dune 45, one of the most known sites. There, I abandon the car to climb to the top of the dune, which is not the highest, but which nonetheless offers a sublime panorama. At sunrise, the dunes are orange, the shadows well-defined, this disappears quite quickly in the middle of the day when everything is overcome by the sun!

After dune 45, it is Big Daddy, the highest dune's turn. It takes me about 50 minutes to climb it! It is not easy to walk in the sand. We are not many to do so, most preferring to climb Big Mama, smaller! Going down is much faster especially if you start to run and caper about in the sand!

Dead Vlei is just beside it. That day in Sossusvlei is one of the best memories of my stay in Namibia.
