Reviews of Waterberg National Park

The plateau at Waterberg is a fairly different area from the rest of Namibia, greener and with a much more luxurious nature. A stopping place which is worth the detour, going up to the north and the park at Etosha.

My suggestion:
If possible, stay on site to profit the most from the scenery and animals, notably at sunrise and sunset.
Summary:

During my trip to Namibia,Waterberg National Park was my first stop from Windhoek when heading towards Etosha. It's located on an elevated plateau in the heart of the Kalahari. It's an astonishing place. The more you go up to the peak, the more the vegetation is luxurious.

Waterberg National Park is a paradise for animals and the guides let us discover those around us during the visit through the park.

There are a few paths for hiking on foot, otherwise the park is for discovering in a 4x4. I saw numerous antelopes but, unfortunately, not the famous black rhinoceroses, which are more discreet. On the other hand, it's a place where I saw monkeys; moreover, I didn't see any of them afterwards, notably in Etosha.

There are several possible accommodations: from camping to the lodge, which allows you to stay in the area and make the most of the visits, whatever your budget.
