Aegiali is a charming little town in the northern part of the island of Amorgos.

My suggestion:
For beach lovers, I suggest you stay in Aegiali to visit Amorgas because you will find the most beautiful beaches here.
Summary:

As the second largest port in Amorgos, you can get to the other islands from Aegiali but fewer boats leave from this town than from Katapola.

Aegiali and the surrounding area offer beautiful views over Amorgos and is less wild than the southern part of the island. I suggest you stay here for a day or two, to enjoy the sandy beaches (they make a change from the pebbles!) and the little footpaths which link the villages and provide wonderful views over the Aegean sea. I loved the the narrow winding streets in the town and the few terraces and bars beckoning you in for a well-deserved break when the sun is too hot.

In the carpark just before the town, I was curious to see where many locals were going, on foot or on donkey, so I followed them on a narrow paved path and after a 15 minute walk we reached a pretty little church where religious chants rang out to accompany the Orthodox festival which was taking place. This was one of the most wonderful memories of Amorgos and my trip to Greece.
