Spring and autumn are the two best seasons for going to Greece. Temperatures are pleasant, hot but not too hot and the place not yet jam-packed with tourists. This is the ideal time to go to the Meteors or Ionian Islands. Whether you wish to do the museum marathon or hike through Greece's magnificent landscape, these two seasons will bring you great satisfaction.
From June to August.
There is nothing impossible about a trip to Greece in summer, but the number of tourists at this time is very high. You will therefore have to elbow your way through the throng to take a snapshot of the Parthenon from its best angle.
From December to February.
It is best to avoid Greece in winter as a good number of tourist attractions and museums are shut. Nevertheless, if you go in February, you might be able to attend the lovely carnival, very popular in Greece.
March-May and September-November
You cannot decently go to Greece without visiting the Ionian Islands of Corfu, Paxi, Ithaca, Lefkas Cythera, Cephalonia and Zante. Here you will discover little traditional villages that are still preserved through tourism. You will especially love Corfu, considered to be one of the country's most beautiful islands. March- May and September-November
The monasteries of the Meteora are part of the essential sights to see while on a trip to Greece. They are located at the top of rocky pillars and constituted a refuge for the monks. Climb up the steps dug into the rock to work your way up towards these superb refuges and admire one of Greece's most splendid attractions. Favour the mid-seasons.
March-May and September-November.
Greece constitutes a perfect place to hike. What would you say to climbing the famous Mount Olympus, so well known in Greek mythology? You can also choose Samos island to go walking in the middle of the sublime forests and swim in the waterfalls to take a rest when you walk. Go preferably during the spring or autumn.

If you are fond of art, Greece will prove to be a real paradise for you. Do not miss the National Museum of Contemporary Art nor the National Art Gallery. Visit the Acropolis museum that houses many treasures, or again the Benaki museum. Go preferably between September and November and between March and May.
January-February, June-July and November.
In January, the Greek celebrate Saint Basil as well as the Epiphany, while the very festive and famous carnival takes place in February. In April, you celebrate Easter, the most important day of the year. As from the month of June and up until August, festivals are all the rage all over the country. Music, festival of wine and culture... there is something for everyone. The Thessaloniki international film festival is held in November.
