Buzet is a little town in Istria that's famous for its truffles.

My suggestion:
If you're in the area use your time to stock up on truffle-based products: oils, honeys, cheeses, not forgetting truffles themselves!
Summary:

I visited Buzet during September, when the famous truffle festival was being held. This marks the start of the truffle season, something that will delight any gourmet-lover.

I was expecting a huge festival, but instead found myself in front of marquee housing a few stands. That said, it didn't stop me from having my fill of their delicious, local treasure. All restaurants in Buzet offer truffles on their menus. My personal favourite was truffles with fresh pasta - mouth wateringly tasty. The town is pleasant and picturesque, with numerous guest houses where you can stay if you want to extend your holiday in this part of Croatia.

The scenery is green and hilly, with forests lining its sinuous roads. Buzet apart, there are two other 'truffle towns', Livade and Motovun that I highly recommend.
