A charming Dalmatian village, and the capital of Brac Island, Supetar is the gateway to the island's charms.

My suggestion:
Whatever you do, don't miss the Zlatni Rat beach near to the village of Bol (on the other side of the island).
Summary:

Easily accessible from Split (thirty minutes by hydrofoil from the port of Split), Brač Island is generally well worth a day of your time if you're staying in this Croatian region.

The boat from Split arrives in Supetar, the main town on the island and its "capital". Like many of the villages in Croatia, this one looks like a typical Dalmatian village. The beige colour features heavily on the village's buildings and the church tower is the main landmark.

The surrounding beaches are rather charming. However, the village of Supetar is nothing extraordinary. The best thing to do while on Brač is to take a bus from Supetar towards the village of Bol on the other side of the island. The journey takes about twenty minutes and passes through hills covered in olive trees. After arriving in Bol, you'll need to walk fifteen minutes to the mythical Zlatni Rat beach! And it's well worth it!
