Though Slavonski Brod, a city in the Slavonia region of Croatia, is worth a quick visit perhaps, it is definitely not somewhere you should go out of your way to see.

My suggestion:
A place to stop for a break on your way into Slavonia.
Summary:

I spent a few hours in Slavonski Brod on my way back from the Slavonia region and, out of season as it was, there was not much going on in the city at the time. I remember stopping at the tourist office and finding out that the nearby museum was closed. I was therefore left with no choice but to visit the monastery and the Baroque style Franciscan church followed by the imposing fortress, with its brick walls that seem to go on forever! Though these are both enjoyable places to visit, they are not enough on their own to justify making a trip here in my opinion.

For me, Slavonski Brod is simply somewhere to stop at briefly for a quick look around. I preferred the nearby town of Dakovo. If you happen to be in this area, however, add the town of Našice, a few kilometres to the north, to the list of places you visit in Croatia. There is a small castle (Pejačević) and a museum to see there.
