Cachoeira is a very charming little town 75 miles from Salvador de Bahia.

My suggestion:
I strongly recommend a quick stop at São Félix (right next door) to visit the home where the artist Karl Heinz Hansen lived. Time stands still there, and the view is panoramic.
Summary:

Known for its religious celebrations and tranquillity, I was excited to discover this small town just 75 miles from El Salvador de Bahia. When coming from Salvador, a visit to Cachoeira indeed makes it possible to wrap oneself in a nice sense... of peace!

Through its narrow alleys made colourful by colonial era buildings (not always well-maintained, but all still very charming nonetheless), Cachoeira will have no difficulty charming you straight away. I found this city perfect for wandering around aimlessly and just enjoying the peace and quiet, especially when just coming from the hustle and bustle of the country's big cities.

Visiting cigar manufacturers doesn't really impress me, so I don't recommend doing it unless you're really interested in the subject!
