A coastal resort village in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (Nordeste region), Pipa is one of the most famous beaches in Brazil.
My suggestion:
Personally, I preferred Madeiro beach which is located on the outskirts of the village. However, don't miss a kayak safari with dolphins in the bay of Praia do Curral (go there at low tide).
Summary:
A superb beach where you might find yourself face to face with a dolphin while you're having a swim. On the Curral beach (bay of the dolphins), the show started at 11 am: we were swimming when we heard a pink dolphin blowing just three meters away. We ran along the beach to find the kayak and spent several hours following them across the little bay. An amazing activityduring a vacation in Brazil.
Praia do Amor (beach of love) is a good surfing spot, but the least attractive of the beaches around Pipa (although it is still very beautiful).
The coolest beach is still Madeiro. From the center of Pipa village, take the van, which takes about ten minutes, and ask the driver to let you off at Madeiro. A rapid descent of the cliff opens onto this sublime beach.
As for Pipa village, it's quiet and cute, but not a major attraction.

Pipa is a coastal resort one hour by road from Natal and an ideal place for surfing, kitesurfing, or simply taking it easy and relaxing.
My suggestion:
If you don't like the idea of sharing the beach with thousands of tourists, avoid going to Pipa in the periods from December to January or July to August.
Summary:
There is a range of activities for the whole family to do in Pipa: numerous beaches, walks along said beaches or on the paths through the ecological sanctuary in the beautiful environment of the Mata Atlântica, natural pools, trips by boat or dune buggy, etc. Fans of nautical sports will be able take advantage of the big waves and strong winds typical of the region. I recommend spending an afternoon at the fittingly-named dos Golginhos (Dolphins) Beach and swimming along with these small mammals for a few meters. The dolphins never fail to put in an appearance there.
If you feel like doing a bit of shopping, visit the village's main street, where there are also plenty of eating places to be found. Enjoying a prawn "moqueca" whilst admiring beautiful views out over the ocean is, for me, an experience not to be missed!
The small village of Tibau do Sul, 10 minutes away by car, is also worth visiting: it has a very family-oriented and quintessentially Brazilian atmosphere.
