A singular viewpoint on Bhutan's very high eastern summits.

My suggestion:
Go between December and February to enjoy a cloudless sky.
Summary:

Dochula is a pass situated at an altitude of 9840 feet . This pass separates the Thimphu and Punakha valleys. Dochula Pass is a must-do for anyone wishing to go to Bhutan . The view of Mount Gankhar Puensum (the highest unclimbed summit in the world) by clear weather, will leave you speechless.

For all Bhutanese, Dochula Pass is a place of prayer and meditation. The construction of the 108 small chortens is dedicated to the memory of the Bhutanese victims who died at the hands of Indian terrorists at the beginning of the 21st century. It is thus a place of prayer and also a place of peace and compassion. A decent appearance and appropriate behaviour are required.

The Dochula Pass is a really good opportunity to try your hand at photography. The 108 chortens and the manner in which they are arranged allow for really lovely snapshots. A must for all photographers.
