25 km from Vinh Long or 45 km from My Tho, on the banks of the Mekong, Cái Bè is a pretty and authentic town. It has one of the most typical floating markets of the delta.

My suggestion:
Just before the Têt festival the floating market is even more interesting than usual. That's the best time to go.
Summary:

Cái Bè is on the Mekong delta and thanks to its floating market is a well known Vietnamese tourist spot.

When I went there during my trip I had spent a whole morning navigating the Mekong. I went from floating market to floating market for 6 hours, following the superb countryside down the stream and making some unexpected discoveries. Among which was the big floating market of Cái Bè. Hundreds of boats selling fruit and vegetables, from the really big to tiny pirogues It's the wholesalers' market. I saw tonnes of pineapples, cauliflower, water melons, tomatoes, beetroot...When a boat specialised in a particular fruit, there was one attached to the top of a pole as a sign.

Like the other towns on the delta, Cái Bè is interesting for the trips you can make on the river.
