Sa Dec is a town on the Mekong delta which is well known because it was where the writer Marguerite Duras lived during part of her childhood.

My suggestion:
Try walking along the banks of the Mekong, or in the little lanes of the old town where you can meet the locals and, who knows, maybe be invited to visit one of the numerous gardens, hot houses or colourful cactus plantations.
Summary:

I was lucky enough to visit Sa Dec during the Têt festival so when I arrived in the centre of the town I was surrounded by immense dragons, which were concealing children and adults who made them move around. Accompanied by drummers and a small band the dragons dance wildly from house to house in order, as far as I understood it, to chase away evil spirits and bring good luck to their inhabitants. Impressive!

Sa Dec, and especially the little lanes near the Mekong, is a nice place to walk, and for lovers of temples, the town has a Confucian temple, the beautiful pagoda of Kien An Cung and a strange Cao Dai temple, an unusual travel experience …
