We had a fantastic time in Japan. The itinerary and excursions organised were perfect, and we got to experience so much of Japan in two weeks - covering all the key cities and sights that we wanted to see . The destinations were all very good. There were so many highlights it's hard to list them all but seeing Mount Fuji was incredible, experiencing the history of Kyoto and the beautiful Island of Miyajima with the local deers. Japan has so many terrific places. There's so much to see and explore. The local agency was incredibly helpful from designing the itinerary to providing support whilst we were travelling - from directions, resolving last minute issues and anything else in between! Without the local travel agency and their knowledge of Japan, we wouldn’t have been able to see and experience Japanese history and culture within 2 weeks. Would highly recommend the travel agency.

The first time I visited Japan was in the Spring this year and I loved it so much I booked straight away again through Evaneos and insisted on Yuri as my travel planner as before. On my first trip I flew back from Osaka and the night before I met a delightful couple from Hiroshima who urged me to visit.... So this time I did and was amazed to find a really lovely city and do welcoming....such lovely people....and later also in Nagasaki. Kyushu is beautiful with many fishing villages and harbours and I certainly intend to return.
The best parts:
Everything..... Japan fascinates me at every turn
The worst parts:
Packing to journey home!

Japan is a very clean and exciting place to visit. The people are very friendly and always willing to help in a hotel or on the street.
The best parts:
The cities and the experiences in each. The customs, culture, foods and learning how to travel by train in Japan.
The worst parts:
Moved too frequently. Should have stayed at least two nights in some cities. Trying to follow Google maps walking when all of the street signs are in Japanese.

We stayed in multiple locations, hitting 5 cities across our 2 week holiday and each gave us a different look at Japanese life styles. We saw amazing shrines, ate beautiful food, and experienced the happiness and excitement of all the people around us.
The best parts:
It's hard to pick one moment amongst the bouquet of wonder that we experienced. The country is beautiful, the food was amazing, and the culture and history was enlightening. We especially enjoyed our visits to the shrines as well as our ramen cooking class.
The worst parts:
We had some snafus with our travel and a couple of mix-ups with our itinerary, but these were resolved quite easily.

We booked a 15 night tour of Japan with Evaneos after a careful search of the market. Evaneos works with local agents and we were paired with Jerome, our local agent, in Tokyo who put together an itinerary covering all the cities and sights we wanted to see (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hakone (for Mt. Fuji), Hiroshima, Himeji and the snow monkeys), booked all the hotels according to our budget, and suggested and arranged particular events and experiences including a tea ceremony, 2 traditional Japanese guest houses (ryokan), cycle tour, hot springs, flower arranging and a beef meal with sake tasting. Japan is quite an expensive country to visit and it can be difficult to plan an itinerary without knowing exactly where to go and what to see but this way, we could have a customised itinerary including as much or as little in the way of guided tours and support at a good value price. This worked very well. It was cherry blossom time too so we wanted to know the best places to get good views of the trees in each city and Jerome was able to make some good suggestions. Some of the transport arrangements were also quite complex but Jerome was available both before the trip and during the trip through e-mail, Skype and WhatsApp (and phone if we had wished) to answer questions and resolve last minute issues. Overall, with Jerome’s help, we were able so see a great deal of Japan in quite a short time and would not hesitate to recommend his service and the Evaneos approach.
The best parts:
A cycle tour was arranged with K*** B*** S*** Cycling tour. This was a customised tour with just one of us participating so, although we were following a pre-planned route I was able to do it much at my own pace and stop to take photographs as I wanted. Kyoto is fairly flat so it wasn’t too much trouble to ride the bike and my guide [sorry, I’ve forgotten his name] was careful to explain all the controls (which included a good set of gears) and the traffic rules. My guide was also very knowledgeable about the local area and Japanese culture such as the art of geisha, with a good standard of English and also helped out with buying some small souvenirs. I would recommend K*** B*** S**** Cycling tour as a good way to see some of the major areas of the city in a way that connects with the local community.

Winter is simply beautiful in Japan. Our day trip to Shirakawa-go was most memorable as the snow transformed the whole area into a fairytale-like place.
The best parts:
Japan is a lovely place with amazing experiences. We planned our trip with Shunichi and he was fantastic. Communication between us was clear and Shunichi was swift in his responses. Everything went smoothly because of his meticulous planning.

Japan is a wonderful country, full of history and culture. The cleanest streets in the world, the magnificent heritage from the past, the organisation of the information, the amazing food experience and the latest technology everywhere.
The best parts:
Overall experience in Japan, contact with local culture and food.
The worst parts:
A little too much jumping from city to city.

Japan is a fascinating country. We enjoyed the cultural and Japanese traditions side very much. The island of Hokkaido which was our main destination is absolutely stunning with mountains, rivers, sea, volcanoes etc. We particularly enjoyed the Onsen experience.
The best parts:
1. Hotels picked were very good and most had wonderful Onsens. 2. itinerary perfectly suited our needs 3. Jason from the local agency was very prompt and very helpful in all aspects of our trip.He is very knowledgeable about Japan and was therefore able to advise us very well. 4. Again, his advise on driving in japan was very useful.
The worst parts:
1. Too many typhoons whist we were there and an earthquake!!!!!!!

This was one of the most amazing trips I ever had and I have been traveling all over the world. Both guides we had were great, informative, and very friendly. The accommodations were excellent especially the hotel by Mt. Fuji. And the train/bus/shikasen tickets being arranged by the company made our trip much smoother and more enjoyable. I have already recommended evaneos in a travel group I am currently in that has over 200,000 people in it. Michihiro Shikatake was the agent in charge of our trip and he did an excellent job. I am a nervous traveler with many concerns and he always quickly answered me back and was very helpful :)
The best parts:
Everything was wonderful but my favorite part was the hotel La Vista where we stayed at Mt. Fuji because I had a perfect view of Mt. Fuji from my room :)
The worst parts:
There was some confusion in Yudanaka over the hotel or ryokan closing at odd hours and the hike up to the snow monkeys was much longer and more difficult than we expected especially since the trail had iced over. We were walking up the mountain on pure ice so I think travelers should be advised to get hiking sticks. So some more detailed information about travel in Yudanaka but otherwise it was fantastic.
