The Mount of the Beatitudes probably means more to Christian travellers. A church was built on the site to remind people of Jesus' "Sermon on the Mount". So it's very important for pilgrims. For other travellers, the tree studded and shady garden around the church gives you a magnificent view over the lake. It's so rare to be able to see the lake so well that this deserves a mention. June in Tiberias: I know now that the summer is without a doubt the most difficult season to brave this region. I continued my expedition by going further down, closer to the bank, where researchers had set up excavation sites just next to the orthodox monastery.
