Above Husavik, a small peninsula facing the northern sea, which offers a beautiful view of the midnight sun in summer.

My suggestion:
The ideal place for contemplation and for those who love to take their time.
Summary:

Tjörnes is a peninsula located above the small port of Husavik in the north of the country, famous for its whale-watching excursions. So it is easy to continue along route 85 and enjoy the charm of this green peninsula facing the Arctic Sea.

The landscape alternates between high cliffs and pebble beaches and it is, of course, very rich in species of marine birds, which come to nest on these steep slopes.

The cliffs of Tjörnes Peninsula are richly embedded with fossils and I must say that I was lucky to see them thanks to an Icelandic friend, because the place is kept secret and is not so easy to find. If you are a geology buff and absolutely want to see them, ask the locals - they will surely help you.

In short, a charming detour for those who like to take their time, as this short excursion will lead you away from the major Icelandic tourist sites of the surrounding area, known as the Diamond Circle.
