Djúpivogur is one of the fishing villages that you can find among the fjords of eastern Iceland. It is along the Ring Road, which runs around the island, so it is possible to stop there for at least a few minutes, if not longer, during a tour of Iceland.
Besides a charming hotel, where I had the chance to stay during my first trip to Iceland, the attraction of Djúpivogur revolves around a rather curious artwork: a series of eggs installed along the port!
But outside the village itself, it is the view of the surrounding mountains and fjords that is the most impressive. I particularly like driving on this bendy road and letting myself be lulled by the sound of the waves that come and break on the coast. So take some time to enjoy these landscapes!
