The fall of the Gods is about mid-distance between Akureyri and Lake Myvatn, a must-see stop for those who pass through there.

My suggestion:
Do not forget to bring along the camera!
Summary:

Godafoss or fall of the Gods is a superb waterfall, quite low but very wide with an almost perfect horseshoe shape.

Godafoss is certainly one of the country's most beautiful waterfalls and is right by the road. Summer or winter, therefore, it is a must-see stop for all those who travel the road between Akureyri and Myvatn. Especially as there is not much else to see hereabouts.

From the parking, you slowly approach along its cliffs for a more and more grandiose sight. I was there in winter and it is quite an amazing sight to behold the snow that coats all the surroundings and some trickles of water frozen by the cold!

Beside the fall there is a house that serves as filling station and shop. This can turn out to be quite practical.
