France's temperate climate makes it a fairly pleasant country to visit all year round, though you do need to bear in mind that it can get very cold in winter, especially in the north and the east, and very hot in summer, particularly in the south. Many French people (and other Europeans) choose to holiday on the Mediterranean coast in August. This can make the price of accommodation particularly high at this time of year, and the most popular and well-known coastal resorts can get very busy. Shops more or less everywhere will be closed for the annual holidays too. So avoid August if you plan to go on a shopping spree!

Everything went smoothly, even with an unexpected train delay, Andrew was able to contact guides and transport when I was unable to. We never felt alone!

We found Paris to be a wonderful city with friendly people, fantastic sites to see and so many small cafes to enjoy! Dinner at *** on the Eiffel Tower was incredible. The Versailles tour was very enjoyable. Our tour guide made the trip fun and interesting thanks to his knowledge of the history of the palace. The Seine River cruise was also fun. We had a very nice dinner and met some very nice people. The wine and cheese tasting was great. We tasted some very good cheeses and enjoyed good wine. Pierre was a wonderful host with a good sense of humor and he was very knowledgeable! Would definitely love to return to Paris and would recommend a visit to this lovely city.

While we saw an overall trip of the city and more concentrated visits to key sites we did not have sufficient time in 3 full days to see Paris. We will have to have another visit.
