A honeymoon in Costa Rica - all the riches the earth has to offer

Tropical climate, welcoming locals, luxury hotels and dream beaches: everything you could want on your honeymoon is available if you choose Costa Rica as your destination. This country will remind you that your honeymoon is an opportunity to make the most of life and all it has to offer, especially when you are in love...

The country where Carpe Diem rules for your honeymoon

Choosing Costa Rica for your honeymoon is like saying "yes" all over again: yes to life and all the beauty and happiness it can offer you, especially in this country where you'll hear the expression "Pura Vida" (literally, "pure life") everywhere. These two words, which have even been adopted by the government as their tourist motto, and which Costa Ricans utter at any time that seems good to them, remind you how lucky you are to be alive, here, in a magical country, and especially for such a special event as your honeymoon.

Responsible travel

And, there is cause for celebration when you go to Costa Rica as a couple. A pioneer of sustainable tourism, which is its principal economic resource, Costa Rica has lots of natural riches and intends to preserve them, thanks to its efforts in renewable energy use (95% of its consumption comes from solar, hydro, air or geothermal power). So you will be able to explore a fauna and flora that is not only unique but also, cocooned, preserved and protected, which will help you feel that your trip through Costa Rica is ethical and eco-responsible. There's nothing nicer than travelling with friends to explore a country of incomparable richness.

So you can really feel at one with the natural wonders.

Costa Rica has three natural areas that are UNESCO World Heritage sites, so its National Parks are places where you can wander through tropical splendour rich in animal and plant life. Manuel Antonio National Park, 150 kilometres from the capital, has a very diverse animal life - you can see monkeys and sloths climbing from branch to branch and whales and dolphins in the ocean. Corcovado National Park is another of the country's responsible tourism sites, which protects numerous endangered species, like Baird's tapir and giant anteaters. If you want astounding landscapes, then don't miss Costa Rica's volcanoes: Poas, Irazú, Arenal or Tenorio will show you that, by emphasising its natural riches, Costa Rica understands how small mankind is.
