Guilin (China)

A walk along the Li River showcases the amazing countryside in Guangxi, all set against a backdrop of craggy, mountainous peaks. Once back in town, you can explore the ramparts by bike and finish the day with a picnic in Seven Stars Park; you may, with a bit of luck, spot some wild monkeys! And to digest, you can head up to Solitary Beauty Peak and relax in front of a panoramic view.

You should also visit the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas and dig out your torch to admire the amazing Reed Flute Cave. All of this is accompanied by a scent of osmanthus, the flowering trees that grow between the river and hills.
