Zhengzhou (China)

It's home to numerous historic and culturally interesting sites, evidence of the important role it played in the country's past. Indeed, it's here you'll find one of China's oldest museums, the Henan Provincial Musuem, which retraces the steps of Ancient China.

The town of Zhengzhou itself is nothing out of the ordinary, but it does make a great base if you want to take a Yellow River cruise or visit the amazing Shaolin Temple, birthplace of Kung-Fu Several trails lead out from the temple compound, taking you to the stunning Song Mountain and to Song Shan, one of China's five sacred mountains.
