Nestled on a hillside, surrounded by paddy fields, this is the perfect place to discover the Bai culture. Learn more about this minority's way of life, whilst enjoying its superb, unusual architectural style.

Architecture apart, Xizhou also has a fascinating market. You'll come across a host of local specialities, from food to traditional crafts. The town is known for its dyes and embroidery, used to embelish clothes, rugs, hats and even shoes. If you're lucky, you'll be there during one of the many Bai festivals that are held in Xizhou.

Whilst in the Dali region, make sure you visit Erhai Lake and the Cangshan Mountain - two perfect getaways for nature lovers!
