It is one of the highest plateaux in the world and famous for its chiseled valleys, forests, expanses of turquoise blue water, and waterfalls which cascade over several levels. All this among snow-capped peaks which are between 2,000 and 4,300 meters above sea level.
The animal life is also very varied. You might see pandas, or golden snub-nosed monkeys. This natural paradise is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. A paradise which is merited due to its isolation but which is nonetheless one of the most visited in the country. So you'll have no problem finding somewhere to stay.
Jiuzhaigou is THE place to go if you love trekking. There are four major trails in the 4 valleys: Zechawa, Rize, Shuzheng and Zaru.
