The capital of New Brunswick, Fredericton, is a provincial Canadian town and a great base from which to visit the area.

My suggestion:
Even though the town is enjoyable, don't give it more than half a day; take the time to tour its surrounds.
Summary:

Situated in the heart of the countryside, Fredericton is a culturally progressive town. The town thrives on its art galleries and museums and boasts typically Canadian architecture.

I fell in love with the village of Kings Landing. The name, no doubt, will appeal to Game of Thrones' fans. But it has nothing in common with George R.R. Martin's books. At thirty kilometres from Fredericton, Kings Landing is an historic village settlement.

A living history site that recreates life between 1780 and 1910, you'll find reenactors who'll regale you with stories from the past. You can visit houses, shops, a printing press, a forge, a school and churches. The attention to detail is impressive, be it the fresh flowers, oven-baked cakes or the souvenirs on sale. It's the perfect step back in time during a holiday in eastern Canada!
