The Hautes-Gorges national park is named for the immense rocky sides of the valley which are the highest you can see in the whole of eastern Canada, after the Rockies.

My suggestion:
I recommend you try an activity that will thrill even the most adventurous among you: ice climbing. If you are coming in Winter it's a great activity to try but it's not for everyone, and there are certain conditions attached!
Summary:

The Malbaie river quietly winds its way through the rock walls of the Hautes Gorges. They have found caribou in the Hautes Gorges national park. If you are lucky you may see this majestic creature, but at the moment the park authorities only have a head count of five! For all these reasons this national park is one of the central areas of the Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve.

When I went there I did a tour on a riverboat. There are river trips that last an hour and a half. I really enjoyed it. The riverboat doesn't function in the cold season but it starts up again every summer. If you go there at sunset the river is calmer and the colours are magnificent.
