This glacier is on Mount Stanley in the Banff National Park. An easy hike will get you there.

My suggestion:
Avoid the harsh Canadian winter and don't do the hike alone, as this is Grizzly country.
Summary:

The Rockies are home to several glaciers; blue-tinted ice fields that are integral to the local eco-system. One not to miss is Stanley Glacier close to Banff.

The hike to the glacier is suitable for everyone and is a myriad of natural wonders. It's 10km long and takes no more than 4 hours. Apart from the first couple of kilometres and the steeper final one, I didn't find the hike at all hard. It's a chance to see some beautiful waterfalls, forest landscapes and a stunning gorge.

Spring is a great time to do this hike, when the wild flowers burst into bloom. But keep an eye on the weather - whatever the season it can quickly change.
