Mauricie is a historical region of Quebec extending over an area of 40,000 km². It is often described as the forestry capital of Canada.
My suggestion
If you want to find out more about the links between France and Quebec, visit the city of Trois-Rivières, which was founded in 1634 as only the second ever settlement to be established in what was then known as New France (it also has Canada's best poutine – a fast-food dish of French fries, cheese and gravy!).

If you are staying in Mauricie you will see lots of picturesque natural scenery around you. The beautiful setting is aided by the friendly locals.
My suggestion
I went to Mauricie at the beginning of the Autumn and, in my opinion, that's really the best time to go. The red, orange, yellow, brown and green of the trees make a perfect mixture and the result is spectacular!
If you are taking off for Canada, and especially for Quebec, we can help you plan so you can travel eco-responsibly! Because Quebec has its own eco-tourism label: Aventure Écotourisme Québec. You can trust them... but still keep your eyes open!
