Le Nord-Ouest et les temples d'Angkor (Cambodia)

How can you not be moved by an outstanding place? Angkor is no exception and I loved it, like all the other numerous visitors. Once you are on the site, it's wonderful to wander around the ruins, make believe you're an explorer, go into temples, climb over old stones, and take photos of some ruins, such as Ta Prohm temple where the roots of an enormous tree are in the process of reclaiming the ruins for nature.

I was, of course, amazed by Angkor Wat, the icon of the site and the symbol of Khmer architecture, which is best seen early in the morning so you can watch the sun rise. You will have to exercise your imagination and concentration in order to ignore the thousands of tourists around you and experience a sense of marvel. Bayon is another temple you should visit, as is Beng Mealea, which is a little further away and so less visited ,but is a complete change of scenery.

Rather than wonder, the place left me with an impression of imposing size, but Angkor was definitely the Cambodian site that left the biggest impression on me.
