Go to the beaches in the evening and you will find that each one has its own ambience when you meet the Carioacas.

Try out one of the many Baile Funk clubs in the city, dance yourself dizzy to the very energetic Carioca funk, and soak up the amazing atmosphere!

Avoid the carnival period and take a taxi, with a driver who speaks your language, to tour the city. You'll get much more out of it and you'll be safe.

The subway network doesn't cover the whole city, but it does cover a large portion of the areas you will want to go to. It's very fast and reliable, making it perfect for getting around in the city.

Live to the rhythm of the Cariocas and explore the city with them. Climb Sugarloaf Mountain and plunge into the Tijuca Forest. As for the rest, put your trust in your local friends, the people you meet, or your local guide!
