Istanbul, which was formerly known as Byzantium and later Constantinople, is a city that acts as a border between two different worlds. On one bank of the river you have Europe, and on the other Asia. A cosmopolitan city, its numerous monuments stand as testimony to its rich history.

My suggestion:
For an enchanting and magical experience, go and walk beneath the arches of the Blue Mosque at dusk. As the call to prayer resounds across the whole city, the faithful arrive. It's simply wonderful.
Summary:
On my trip to Turkey, I spent an entire week in Istanbul. It's immediately obvious that Istanbul is a city of contrasts and mixtures: a paradox in fact. Its rich history and its position straddling Europe and Asia have made it a city unique of its kind.

A must-see. This city is amazing and the perfect introduction to Turkey. It sums up Turkey's Eurasian heritage.

My suggestion:
One unforgettable sight was watching the sun go down from the bridge that links the two parts of the city. Dozens of fishermen lined up, rods in hand, silhouetted against the the orange tones of Istanbul's skyline.
Summary:
Istanbul is the largest city in the country, but, contrary to what many people believe, it isn't the capital. It's an impressive place, full of attractions - you must pay it a visitduring a trip to Turkey. It's hard to sum up what you should see in Istanbul. Firstly it's a huge city and, secondly, it has so much on offer.
