Safranbolu has the best preserved and restored Ottoman architecture in Turkey.

My suggestion:
To see what the inside of a real Ottoman house looks like, you should stay in one of the numerous bed and breakfast places in the village. Most of them are traditional houses that have been converted.
Summary:
Safranbolu is a small Ottoman village which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. You really must go there during a trip to Turkey. And that was basically the reason why I went there. Once there I was definitely not disappointed. Each of the village houses is more charming than the next, and they are all in different architectural styles, although they make a very harmonious whole.
