Favourites from the agency
  • Sri Lanka is known for its many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Polonnaruwa is one of our personal favourites, with its fascinating ruins and statues.
  • For outdoorsy lovers, there are hundreds of amazing hikes to set off on in Sri Lanka, for example Adam's Peak near the hill country.
  • Why not try water sports during your trip, such as: diving, surfing, kite-surfing or scuba diving? Our beaches are some of the best in the world!
  • The delicious cuisine! If you want a real local experience, we recommend doing a homestay or visit to a local family to learn to make Sri Lankan food.

Sustainability is key to any local agency, along with the preservation of our country's precious ecosystems, cultures, and landscapes. It's extremely important to us that our agency only works with small, family-run businesses to ensure that we're actively supporting Sri Lanka's local economy. Using local guides and service providers is a great way to spread the share of revenue generated by tourism and ensure that local communities benefit from this business. For our travellers, it also means we're able to make their trip to Sri Lanka more authentic and special.

    Best parts:
We loved the country and felt we covered some excellent tourist highlights. The hotels were - with one exception - exceptional. Our driver-guide was lovely and very well-meaning and added value and extra visits to our tour. He listened to our needs when we found it all too much.
    Worst parts:
We found the trip quite hard work! Following our long-haul flight with a 5.5 hour time difference, we were having to get up every other morning at around 5.30am in order to participate in wildlife watching and long hikes. We opted to stay take a day off once we arrived at Santani Hotel so we could recover. The roads around Sri Lanka are congested and dangerous and we didn't realise quite how many hours driving there would be. On reflection, we probably wouldn't have tried to cover so much (advice on this would have been helpful when booking.) Although fit, we are in our late 50s and found the itinerary tough.
    Summary:
Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with friendly people and great service for travellers. Food was of a high quality throughout. Food was of a high quality throughout. Perhaps the highlight was our visit to the tea plantations and our stay at the Heritance Tea Factory. The Santani Wellness Hotel near Kandy was also wonderful - an architectural gem in stunning mountain scenery. Our least favourite hotel was the Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort, which was tired and corporate in style. We also wondered why two elephant safaris had been included - one was more than enough.See more

We enjoyed the greenery and the small towns we visited . The best part of our trip was visiting the ElephyTransit Home and saw the milk feeding time for baby elephants . We also spent few days at a beach resort in Negombo. The beach was so clean and quiet and the sea was lovely and warm . Our children spent many hours riding the waves .See more
