Northeast Poland's best-kept secret, and a place still largely ignored by visitors, Ryn, with its more peaceful ambiance and atmosphere, is different from most other places in region.

My suggestion:
The climate here is amongst the most severe in Poland, so avoid visiting in winter!
Summary:

The highlight of the visit to Ryn is its castle, which it is possible to admire from a distance. The building has today been converted into a very high-class hotel complete with a luxury restaurant. I didn't find the rest of the buildings in this little town particularly interesting, and it's not worth the visitor expending much time and effort to see them. Unless you're a fan of hiking, nature and the outdoors, or snow-covered landscapes, this little town of just 3,000 inhabitants located between two lakes (Ołów and Ryn) does not have much to offer.

In summary, for visitors (like me) who are generally looking for exciting, busy environments offering plenty to see and do, Ryn is not exactly ideal. I have to admit, however, that seeing the way the town acts as a kind of bridge between two lakes as you draw near it on the way in does have its charm. Personally, I would recommend going to other places in Poland such as Gdansk and Kraków instead.
