One of the most peaceful villages at Lake Atitlan.

My suggestion:
Jaibalito's hotels are recommended for those who prefer peace and quiet to the hustle and bustle of festive San Marcos or San Pedro.
Summary:

I had the opportunity to visit or pass through Jaibalito two or three times. The last time, it was to accompany my wife, who was going there for professional reasons. Jaibalito is a peaceful place, small, surrounded by vegetation and offering magnificent views, just like other points on Lake Atitlan.

The place, in itself, isn't really worth a visit and has nothing essential for a trip to Guatemala, but it turns out that it offers accommodation options: often, it's foreginers who establish themselves here (like the rest, all around the lake) and who created one of the hotels, whose access is almost exclusively possible by motorboat ("lancha"). In my opinion, Santa Cruz de la Laguna and Jaibalito are the best options for accommodation for those who like peace and quiet and enjoying flora and fauna.
