Villa de Leyva, a charming village to spend a lovely daystrolling through the streets in the centre.

My suggestion:
One of the specialities of the region to definitely taste: Arequipe!
Summary:

From Tunja, we spent an hour and a half in a bus to get to Villa de Leyva. A beautiful sunny arrival enabled us to stroll pleasantly in the cobbled streets of the white town. Lovers of colonial architecture, we were satisfied! The additional touch of charm lies in the mountains which surround Villa de Leyva.

We discovered several good restaurants offering lunchtime meals at very reasonable prices! However, please be careful of the bars and restaurants in the main square which, admittedly, offer a very pretty view, but you pay for it. Go a little further from this square and you'll find very good restaurants in the adjacent streets.

It's an opportunity to fetch back a few culinary souvenirs, including the famous"Arequipe", the speciality of the region.

It's possible to visit the town's museum; unfortunately, we weren't able to as it's closed on Wednesdays, the day of our visit.
