The Chicamocha Canyon is in the heart of the Chicamocha National Park in the Santander Department.

My suggestion:
Hop on the cable car. The view over the Chicamocha Canyon is nothing short of spectacular!
Summary:

Formed around 46 million years ago by the flow of the Chicamocha River, the Chicamocha Canyon is in the heart of Santander's green, mountainous landscape, to the north of Columbia.

One of the best ways to admire the area is from above by cable car. The view is breathtaking. You'll be interested to know that, with a depth of around 2,000m, the Chicamocha Canyon is deeper than the Grand Canyon.

Even though it's a beautiful place, I recommend you only stay for a half a day, which is time enough to go on the cable car tour. The Chicamocha National Park is more of an activity park than a nature reserve. It's a great place for a family trip to Columbia.
