330km from Alice Spring and 280km away from Ayers Rock, Kings Canyon is a uniquely stunning and original site, in the middle of the incredible bush in Australia's Red Centre.

My suggestion:
You have to visit at 5:30am to avoid heat waves At midday, when the temperatures soar to 50°C, the rangers are obliged to prohibit access to the Canyon.

During my trip to Australia, I went to King's Canyon one early morning. Not only is the temperature more bearable at this time of the day, it is also the ideal time to spot some kangaroos. I was lucky enough to see a female kangaroo and her joey up close. Magical! Viewing the sunset is a sight to be cherished. The red hues of the canyon take on a beautiful colour which is ever-changing from mauve to violet.

I strongly advise you to take plenty of water along with you and be prepared to be very patient. I struggled to withstand the onslaught of so many annoying flies, persistent on penetrating every orifice on my face. You may purchase a hat with a protective net from one of the vendors at the entrance to the site. It's a very touristy thing to do, but it is rather a good idea to buy one. Once you're kitted out, you're ready for any one of the exciting hikes around Kings Canyon. Ranging from 3 to 22 kilometres long, there are hikes of various difficulty levels.

The Australian Grand Canyon and a must-see!

My suggestion:
If you're heading to Uluru, don't miss out Kings Canyon - you won't regret it!

Kings Canyon is so beautiful, it's hard to put it into words. It's a breathtaking, unforgettable place! If you want to go on a hike (with a guide, of course) to Kings Canyon, then it's best to leave early in the morning! I went during November, which is springtime in Australia, so it wasn't the hottest time of year. We set off on the hike at 6am and finished at 9am, by which time the temperature had already hit 40°C! I spotted a kangaroo hopping around - a priceless experience!

If you're heading to Uluru during your trip to Australia, make sure you stop at Kings Canyon; most organisd tours in the region pass through the town! You can explore the Australian bush and admire the orange/red landscape around the centre in all its splendour. I highly recommend you spend 2-3 days here in the Australian desert, so as to enjoy a truly unforgettable experience.
